Who We Are
FOUNDER OF THE KUMASI FOUNDATION
For Kwadwo (Kojo) Boakye, what began as a dream soon became a plan, and ultimately, a reality. The Kumasi Foundation, based in Kumasi, Ghana, was originally founded in 1990 as a cooperative aimed at helping local children with food and school fees. Over time, it evolved into a full-fledged foundation. In 2013, the Kumasi Food Foundation was officially registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Ghana. The Foundation is registered as a non-profit in the United States as well.
From the beginning, the Kumasi Food Foundation has positively impacted thousands of families and communities across Ghana, providing essential resources such as food, school supplies, clothing, medical aid, and many other vital services. Kojo has always been passionate about helping others, and by observing the pressing needs within his community, he has been able to offer meaningful support and create tangible change.
Through his vision and leadership, the Kumasi Food Foundation will continue to add value and provide crucial services to uplift those in need in Kumasi and beyond.
